52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks – Week 47: Thankful
The 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks Challenge is Thankful to coincide with Thanksgiving Day in America.
Week 47 – Thankful
This year after much saving, my children and I were able to travel to England and Scotland. It was a glorious holiday (except for the car hire company) and we got to see many places our ancestors lived, worked, or visited as well as visiting many attractions. We got to catch up with a friend who now lives in England and we got to meet many of our wonderful family in Staffordshire. Here are just a few photos of our trip.
- White Cliffs of Dover
- Queen Victoria Kensington Palace
- Squirrel in Hyde Park
- Trafalgar Square, London
- Sunset over East London
- Warner Brothers, Watford
- Bletchley Park, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire
- Cumbria, Lakes District
- The Kelpies, Falkirk, Scotland
- Larbert Church and Cemetery, Scotland
- The Jacobite Train, Fort William, Scotland
- The Dornoch Farm we stayed at
- Dornoch Cathedral and Cemetery, Scotland
- Dunrobin Castle, Sutherland, Scotland
- Mount Grace Priory, North Yorkshire
- Rievaulx Abbey, North Yorkshire
- St Giles, Short Heath, Staffordshire
- St Peters, Wolverhampton
- The Ancient High House Stafford
- Wightwick Manor, Staffordshire
- Roses at Wightwick Manor, Staffordshire
- Shugborough Estate, Staffordshire

We saw so much and did so much in our four week trip. I am so grateful that we went. We met so many amazing people. I can’t wait to go back!
