The Lives of the Tree

Organise Your Genealogy Research

Hopefully, by now you have read some of my Stories Under the Tree, fictional stories based on my ancestors and the records I have available.  I have created this page to bring you the non-fictional facts and stories surrounding my ancestors.  Some of these will be assignments I have created whilst doing my Family History Diploma through UTAS and others will be snippets of quirky items I have found during my research.  The first of these I’ve decided to highlight is George Brand.  George was one of nearly 10,000 convicts to arrive in Western Australia.  He is a success story that epitomises the Australian dream.  This was an assignment I pulled together as part of the Convict Ancestors Unit and I thoroughly enjoyed researching and writing it.  I really hope you enjoy reading about him, where he came from and where he finished his life.
